Presentation of the school

1. Location

Son canals school is situated in Palma, the capital city of the Balearic Island in Spain. It is at 25 Bisbe Cabanelles street. It takes you twenty minutes to walk from Son Canals to the city center. Our school is located in a multicultural  area, where people  from different parts of the world live: chinise, africans... Most of the studentsin Son Canals walk to school. There are about 280 students and about 20 teachers in our school.

2. School building

The school building is white and blue. It is  a modern and a small school. It is 25 years old. It has got 3 floors and a hall. We have 5 playgrounds where we have sports and we play with our friends. School has a lot of classrooms but  teachers don`t use all of them. We really like our school.We are here since we were three year. We are like a family.

3. Classrooms

At the school there are lots of classrooms. On the first floor you can find the 4 pre-school classes and the gym. The primary classes and the computer lap are on the second floor. The music class, the library, the english class and some support classes are on the 3rd floor. Most of these classrooms are big and have a lot of natural light.

4. The playground

The playground is outside the school building. It is huge and it has got two small playgrounds on both sides. We got to the playground time at 11:30 every day and we finish our break at 12:00. In the playground children play football.We eat our snacks.There is a lovely playground for the pre-school children too.

5. The library

The library is on the third floor. We can read lots of books in silence. The library is not the biggest class, but it is amazing. It has a lot of natural light. It is a very new. We can visit it from 9:00 to 14:00 but we are thinking about opening it in the afternoons too.

6. Other facilities

A part from the classrooms ,there are special places like; the kitchen,which is on the groundfloor, or the dining room, wich is next to the kitchen. Just 15 kids eat lunch at school. The rest go home. We have also a computer lab on the second floor. It´s big and has got a lot of computers.

7. Staff room and secretary

On the groundfloor there are special rooms for the teachers: the staff room, the secretary's office and the headteacher's office. Our headtecher is Jaume Parets. If we have some problems, we can talk to him. He is friendly and nice. Biel is our sports teacher. He also works as a secretary. Teachers relax, eat and talk about students in the staff room.
